CHARLOTTE'S LETTER
Click on the title: Informal letter to a friend about a trip
Dear George,
How are you? I'm really happy because my mom said that I can go and visit my cousin Virginia in London at the weekend. I can't wait! I'm going to take the train there. I wanted to leave on Friday morning but mom said that I can't miss any school, so I'm going to leave in the afternoon. It's such an adventure really! The train leaves the station in Braintree at 5:44pm. I must get off at Liverpool Street Station.Virginia will be there when I arrive. We're going to walk to her house; it's very close to the station on Dominion Street.
I want to do lots of things in London! My aunt took me there when I was four years old but I can't really remember the trip. On saturday Virginia and I are going to a big art museum called the Tate Modern. I especially want to see Andy Warhol's exhibition. Then we're going to have lunch in the centre. I think I'll try Thai food.On Saturday evening we're going to Prince Edward Theatre to see "Mary Poppins". You know how much I love musicals! On Sunday we're going to go to a big park, Regent's Park in Central London. Virginia says we can go boating in the lake there! Can you imagine that!? I want to go shopping too, because there aren't many shops in my village(dear old Finchingfield). I'm going to buy some clothes as well as a present for my mom. She simply adores books so we're going to the biggest bookstore in London in St. James St.
I'm going back home on Sunday evening. I know I won't want to leave London!
What's new with you? Please write soon!
Best wishes, Charlotte
P.S. I do hope you come and visit one day!
